Tummy Tuck
& Liposuction
PROCEDURES OF EXCELLENCE
Tummy tuck and liposuction are the two most commonly chosen cosmetic body procedures, adding up to more than 500,000 total procedures performed in North America each year.
The two surgeries address different concerns but with similar goals, which is why they are so often performed together. A tummy tuck is used to rebuild the abdominal wall and remove loose skin. Liposuction removes additional excess fat around it. Together, they provide more comprehensive reshaping than either could do on its own, with the benefits of one recovery time.
The Contour You Choose
A combined breast augmentation and tummy tuck, also called an augmentation mammaplasty with abdominoplasty, treats two areas that are often the most affected by pregnancy and weight changes. During breast augmentation, Dr. Nodwell restores volume and symmetry to the breasts using implants or fat transfer. A tummy tuck is focused on repairing separated abdominal muscles and removing redundant skin.
As the patient, you will experience comprehensive upper body rejuvenation while only having to go through the surgical process once. This surgery can help you recover from a pregnancy that was hard on your body or put the finishing touches on months or years of weight loss efforts.

Why Do We Choose Tummy Tuck & Liposuction?
The shape of your body is not always within your control. During pregnancy, the skin and the muscles stretch to accommodate a growing baby, and sometimes this can be too much for your body to repair on its own. Weight changes can produce this same effect on the muscles and cause bulging in the abdominal region despite all of your efforts to achieve a healthy weight.
Hormones and genetics also determine things like fat distribution. You may notice that fat seems to collect and stay in your abdomen, thighs, flanks or underarms even when your overall weight goes down. Surgery is a way to do what all of your efforts cannot.

What Are My Tummy Tuck & Liposuction Options?
The Nodwell Experience
Restoring the Core
When a patient comes to me with concerns about the way that their abdomen looks, I immediately start thinking beyond the surface. You see loose skin and fat that has outlasted years of effort, and I see abdominal muscles that haven’t been given a chance to heal yet.
A tummy tuck rebuilds the foundation, and liposuction refines everything around that foundation. The artistry comes in making the two procedures feel like one. When this surgery is done well, the result should feel as though it has always belonged to you.

The Nodwell Experience

Am I a Candidate for Tummy Tuck & Liposuction?
This procedure suits those who are at or near a stable goal weight. If you are a smoker, we ask that you quit at least six weeks before your surgery since smoking compromises healing. The best way to know whether a combined procedure is right for you is to book a consultation. Dr. Nodwell will examine your skin quality, fat distribution and abdominal wall, and go through a detailed medical history with you.

At or near a stable, healthy goal weight
Finished having children, or comfortable that future pregnancy may affect results
A non-smoker, or willing to stop nicotine well before surgery
Realistic about scarring, recovery, and the timeline for final results
Free of medical conditions that increase surgical risk
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need a Tummy Tuck, Liposuction, or Both?
Liposuction alone is the right choice when the only concern is fat, when the skin retracts well and the muscle wall is intact. A tummy tuck becomes necessary once skin laxity and muscle separation enter the picture, because no amount of fat removal will tighten skin that has lost its elasticity. Most patients who have been pregnant or lost a meaningful amount of weight benefit from the combined procedure.
How Much Does a Tummy Tuck & Liposuction Cost?
Pricing depends on which tummy tuck technique is appropriate, how many areas of liposuction are included and the time required in the operating room. Combining both under one anesthetic is less expensive than performing them separately, because anesthesia and facility costs are shared.
A tummy tuck with Dr. Nodwell starts at $16,000. Liposuction starts at $8,000 for a single area, with $3,000 to $6,000 for each additional area. Financing through Beautifi is available, and you will receive a personalized quote at your consultation.
What is the Difference Between a Tummy Tuck and a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover includes a combination of procedures, often including a tummy tuck and liposuction. Most patients seeking a mommy makeover also add a breast augmentation, lift or reduction, and sometimes a labiaplasty. Dr. Nodwell can plan all of this inside one operation if you are a good candidate.
What Should I Expect From Tummy Tuck & Liposuction Recovery?
Recovery from a combined tummy tuck and liposuction follows the tummy tuck timeline, as this is the more extensive procedure. Liposuction does not add an extensive amount to your recovery time.
