Facelift & Neck Lift
PROCEDURES OF EXCELLENCE
The two most common reasons that patients seek a facelift, according to a study published in 2020, are the face and neck looking older and wrinkled.
Patients are noticing that the neck often reveals age before the face, and more are choosing to address both regions in a single surgery. Combining a facelift and neck lift gives you a refreshed appearance from cheekbone to collarbone.
The Profile You Choose!
When we combine a facelift (rhytidectomy) with a neck lift (cervicoplasty/platysmaplasty), we address many layers of descending tissue and weakened muscle support, all while removing excess skin. Dr. Nodwell works with the deep structures of the face. He finds that repositioning skin, ligaments and muscles as a whole leads to more natural-looking results.
Facelift and neck lift surgery allow you to address the jowls and deep folds that you have started to notice on the neck and jawline. It also eliminates submental fat, which can be present even in those who are naturally thin or who have lost weight. With Dr. Nodwell’s techniques, you can look younger while still looking like yourself.

Why Do We Choose a Facelift & Neck Lift?
As you age, collagen and elastin production decrease throughout the entire body. We often notice this the most on the face and neck, which are more visible. Other structures age at the same time, including the deep retaining ligaments and the platysma muscles that can create vertical bands on the neck. Fat redistribution can also make some areas look fuller while other areas start to look hollow.
If you treat just the face, the lines and sagging on the neck will be more noticeable. Once signs of aging become severe enough that creams and nonsurgical options are no longer providing good results, surgery can be a great next step.

The Nodwell Experience
Face and Neck Excellence
I’ve never thought of the face and neck as separate issues. In my mind, they are one continuous canvas, aging together along the same ligaments and fascial layers. When I plan a facelift with a neck lift, I think about how the results will look, not just on the day the bandages come off, but years down the road.
My fellowship training has given me more respect for the structures that matter most, such as nerves, muscles, bone structure and skin. Facelifts that look too tight are a thing of the past. I prioritize a natural, youthful look that ages well and helps you to feel and look your best.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Will My Facelift and Neck Lift Results Last?
These surgeries provide long-lasting results because of the deep plane and SMAS techniques that Dr. Nodwell uses. Normal facial aging will still occur, but the area will be more lifted as you age than it would have been without the surgery.
How Should I Prepare for Facelift & Neck Lift Surgery?
Preparation begins several weeks before surgery. Dr. Nodwell will review your medications and ask you to pause anything that increases bleeding risk, including aspirin, ibuprofen and certain herbal supplements. Plan for two weeks away from work, arrange for a trusted person to stay with you for the first 24-48 hours and prepare a comfortable space at home with extra pillows for head elevation.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect?
You'll see some changes right away, but the bandaging and swelling will mask the final result for several weeks. You can expect contours to settle over three to six months. Incisions are placed within the hairline and hidden in folds, and they will fade over a 12-18 month period.
How Much Does a Facelift & Neck Lift Cost?
Cost varies based on the techniques included in your surgical plan and any complementary procedures such as fat grafting or eyelid surgery. Dr. Nodwell provides a clear, itemized quote during consultation. Nodwell Plastic Surgery offers financing through Beautifi, which lets you spread the investment over manageable monthly payments.
What Should I Expect From Facelift & Neck Lift Recovery?
Recovery unfolds gradually, with most visible healing in the first four to six weeks and the deeper tissues continuing to settle over several months.Your recovery journey begins the moment your tummy tuck procedure is complete. While every patient's healing process is unique, understanding the general timeline and expectations can help you prepare for a smooth recovery.
Throughout your recovery, you'll have regular follow-up appointments with Dr. Nodwell to monitor your healing progress. Should you have any questions or concerns between appointments, our team remains available to provide support and guidance. Following your post-operative instructions carefully helps ensure optimal results from your facelift procedure.
